Travel information - Spurs v Wolves, including news of rail disruption on Saturday

Wed 17 August 2022, 18:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Fans attending our home Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday (kick-off 12.30pm) are asked to take note of the following travel information, which includes details of industrial action, scheduled engineering works and planned track closures.

Industrial action

As a result of RMT industrial action, there will be significantly reduced services across most UK train operating companies on Saturday 20 August. The majority of services operating on Saturday will only do so between 8am-6pm.

Northumberland Park station will be closed and train services via Tottenham Hale will be extremely limited.

National Rail’s journey planner has been updated with services scheduled to run on Saturday. Supporters are advised to plan their journeys in advance and check train times before travelling.

Scheduled engineering works

Scheduled engineering works are taking place north of Cheshunt, further affecting Greater Anglia services. A service will operate between Liverpool Street and Cheshunt with two trains per hour in each direction, stopping only at Tottenham Hale and Waltham Cross.

A very limited train service will operate between Harlow Mill and Stansted Airport, calling at Bishops Stortford. No direct trains between Harlow Mill and Cambridge will operate.

Limited capacity bus replacement services to and from Waltham Cross will operate from Harlow Mill. Buses will not stop at Harlow Town or Roydon. Cheshunt car park will be open with 195 spaces available on a first come, first served basis.

TfL track closures and reduced services

Planned track closures and reduced services are affecting several TfL services on Saturday, including the Circle, Hammersmith & City and Elizabeth lines. The Chingford branch of London Overground is also closed.

Reminder - Regional Coach Service

Our Regional Coach service, operating from a number of destinations, including new routes within Spurs supporter heartlands, is available for all home matches. Due to high demand for this fixture, some services are sold out. Remaining services can be booked using the link below.

Stations - Tottenham Hale

Tottenham Hale is a fully accessible station with access to and between Victoria line and Greater Anglia services. Greater Anglia platforms are fully accessible from the concourse, which has entry and exit ramps.

Due to industrial action, Greater Anglia services to Tottenham Hale will be extremely limited.

Supporters using the Victoria line, including wheelchair users and those with limited mobility, are advised to use Tottenham Hale rather than Seven Sisters as it is a shorter journey to and from the stadium.

White Hart Lane

London Overground services will operate from 7.30am-6pm on Saturday. All trains will be made up of eight carriages and four trains per hour will operate in each direction, with two from and to Enfield and two from and to Cheshunt.

Post-match, a large queue for southbound services at White Hart Lane station is expected. If the queue extends to the High Road, supporters are advised it will be quicker to walk to Tottenham Hale or Seven Sisters for Victoria line services than wait for a London Overground service.

Extra stewards will be deployed at White Hart Lane to assist supporters post-match.

White Hart Lane is a fully accessible station.

Northumberland Park

Northumberland Park station will be closed on Saturday.

Seven Sisters

Due to separate scheduled RMT industrial action on Friday 19th August, Victoria line services will commence at around 8am on Saturday. Supporters are advised to check the Victoria line’s service status before leaving home.

Trains are scheduled to operate every 2-3 minutes in both directions before and after the game though they may be subject to cancellation.

Pre-match, the Birstall Road diversion route will be in place at Seven Sisters for interchange between the Victoria line and London Overground services to avoid congestion on the northbound platform. Supporters should avoid the interchange because London Overground services arriving from Liverpool Street will be busy due to the limited capacity of alternative Greater Anglia services via Tottenham Hale.

Supporters using the Victoria line, including wheelchair users and those with limited mobility, are advised to use Tottenham Hale rather than Seven Sisters as it is a shorter journey to and from the stadium.

Queue management

Queue management systems will be in place at all open stations. Supporters are asked to respect and work with staff at our stations.

TFL buses

The TfL bus services in the Tottenham area are not subject to any industrial action.

Prior to the match the W3 will follow its normal route but the 149, 259, 279 and 349 services will be diverted away from the High Road at least two hours before the game.

Post-match, the TfL bus services will return to normal operation as soon as possible after the local road closures are lifted. More information on road closures can be found below.

Cycling

For supporters wishing to cycle to the stadium, bike stands are available at Tottenham Community Sports Centre and St Francis De Sales School, which are both located on the High Road. Dedicated bicycle parking is also available on-street around the stadium.

Although our Bag Policy still applies, stewards will be briefed regarding cyclists’ need to carry helmets, puncture kits and removable seats into the stadium.

Shuttle buses

Four Great Northern services per hour will be operating in each direction via Alexandra Palace, from where a frequent shuttle bus to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium operates. A shuttle bus service also operates from and to Wood Green on the Piccadilly line.

Free tickets must be booked in advance of travel.
