Spence features as England top their World Cup group

Djed Spence came off the bench in the second half as England secured top spot in World Cup Group L with a 2-0 win over Panama in New York on Saturday night.

The defender replaced the injured Jarell Quansah at right-back on 63 minutes, just after Jude Bellingham had fired the Three Lions ahead.

Ex-Spur Harry Kane headed in a second a few moments later to become England’s record World Cup goalscorer – he’s now up to 11 at the prestigious event.

Djed’s appearance means he has featured in all three games for Thomas Tuchel’s men at this summer’s tournament so far, with England now looking likely to face either DR Congo or Senegal in the last 32.
