Saracens to face Stormers at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Thu 23 July 2020, 16:30|Tottenham Hotspur

We are delighted to announce the intention to stage a high-profile rugby union exhibition match between Saracens and three-time South African Conference champions DHL Stormers at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

This exciting clash is due to take place in 2021 with the Club, Saracens and DHL Stormers all currently working closely together to confirm the details in line with evolving Government COVID-19 safety protocols.

It is sure to be an intriguing contest with a number of Springbok and England players from the 2019 Rugby World Cup Final in Japan expected to be reunited, including both captains – Owen Farrell and Siya Kolisi.

The fixture is the latest in a growing list of events set to be staged at our stadium in 2021. We recently confirmed that Lady Gaga is due to perform at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as part of The Chromatica Ball Tour, while one of UK music’s biggest events, Capital’s Summertime Ball, will also be here next year. In addition, having already, memorably, hosted our first matches in October, 2019, the NFL will return to Tottenham in 2021.

There will be more rugby in N17 in 2022 as well with our stadium set to play host to the Heineken Champions Cup and European Rugby Challenge Cup finals.

Based out of Newlands, Cape Town, DHL Stormers have six players who featured in South Africa's 2019 World Cup Final victory. That number includes the hugely respected figure of Kolisi, plus Bongi Mbonambi, Frans Malherbe, Pieter-Steph du Toit, who all started the final, and Herschel Jantjies and Steven Kitshoff, who came off the bench.

We shall provide details on a date for this fixture, and ticket details, in due course.

Register your details to be the first to hear updates about future Tottenham Hotspur Stadium events.
