Lize Kop has been shortlisted for October’s British Gas Save of the Month award in the WSL.
Our Dutch international goalkeeper produced a stunning stop to deny Arsenal’s Alessia Russo eight minutes into the second half of the north London derby at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 24 October.
It was an incredible moment that had our fans in N17 singing her name aloud – and the 28-year-old has now been recognised for her efforts with a nomination for the league’s Save of the Month prize.
Three other goalkeeper have been shortlisted, including London City Lionesses’ Elene Lete for her save from Julie Blakstad’s free-kick on 4 October. Ayaka Yamashita (for Manchester City v Brighton & Hove Albion) and Phallon Tullis-Joyce (for Manchester United v Liverpool) are also in the running.
