Reuniting with Roberto De Zerbi following his summer move from Brighton, JP has made an impressive start to life in a Spurs shirt and continued his ever-present run in the side across a month which began with the spirited 1-1 away draw at Manchester United on 10 October.

After impressing alongside Marcos Senesi at Old Trafford, he lined up on the right of a back three for the visit of Coventry City where we picked up our first three points of the campaign with the 3-1 success over the Sky Blues at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Dutch international then partnered compatriot Micky van de Ven in the heart of defence for the trip to rivals Chelsea and played a key role in our momentous 2-0 victory at Stamford Bridge. JP competed Mike Penders for the ball at a corner which led to the goalkeeper punching into his own net for our opener and defended resolutely at the other end to come away with a clean sheet - only our second win there in the Premier League era.

The 26-year-old rounded off a stellar month with his best performance of the lot as he claimed your Player of the Match in the 2-0 home success over Crystal Palace last time out. JP headed in - whilst sitting down - our second goal and was vital to our dominance on the ball as he completed a club record 143 passes to cap a superb all-round individual display.

No other Premier League player attempted or completed more passes than the ball-playing central defender across the month of October.

Help JP see of competition from Evanilson, Nicolas Jackson, Ezri Konsa, Declan Rice, Jack Rudoni, Bart Verbruggen and Luka Vuskovic by voting before 12 noon on Monday 9 November.
