Internationals | Ourkiss scores maiden England goal in emphatic win
Rania Oukriss scored her first goal at international level for England Under-19s as they defeated Bosnia & Herzegovina 6-0 in the final game of the first round of qualifying for UEFA Under-19 European Championship.
Having provided an assist inside one minute of her debut at the weekend, Rania was handed her first start for the Young Lionesses for the clash on Tuesday afternoon and just seven minutes in, she broke the deadlock with a lovely finish off the inside of the post.
After some lovely build-up play from Katie Scott down the left, she found our young midfielder inside the far left of the box and she worked up some space on her right foot before curling home in off the far post.
That gave England a platform to build on as they went on to put a further five past the home side and earn a spot in the second round of qualifying for next summer’s tournament.
Rania went on to complete 62 minutes before making way for Saffie Rae. Goalkeeper Sophie Jackson was an unused substitute.
It has been a positive international window for our Academy stars as, alongside Rania finding the back of the net, Eloise Summers-Mee got off the mark for Scotland Under-19s at the weekend while Heidi Hills has spent the last few days training with the senior Wales squad.
