From the archives | Charlton in N17

It's over 15 years since we last met Charlton here in Tottenham - when a certain young winger stole the show in the FA Cup...

That winger and Academy graduate was Andros Townsend, 19 at the time, who made a dream debut with a superb strike against The Addicks in the third round of the competition, a 3-0 win for us at the Lane.

After a few loan spells, Harry Redknapp handed Andros his debut and he delivered with a storming display and a goal to remember, picking the ball up centrally and driving home low from 30 yards to open the scoring after 49 minutes.

That triggered a match-winning spell of three goals in 11 minutes with Jermain Defoe at his best, two fine solo goals seeing us home.

Andros went on to make 93 appearances for us before departing for Newcastle in 2016 - his performances also earning an England call and 10 of his 13 caps won as a Spur.

As we welcome Charlton back to Tottenham for their first game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the second round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening (7.45pm UK), here's a gallery of some previous meetings in N17 - photographs going all the way back to 1932...
