A player that wears her heart on the sleeve, Clare Hunt won the fans’ hearts in her second season with the club with strong defensive displays and that was recognised by our Lilywhite fanbase, taking home Junior Supporters’ Player of the Season for 2025/26.

Clare was an ever-present in Martin Ho’s side until late February, 2026, playing every single minute in all competitions, before flying out with Australia for the Women’s Asian Cup throughout March. However, in the Matildas’ charge to the final of the competition, the defender picked up an injury on her right knee that would rule her out for the rest of the campaign.

The Australia international joined us from Paris St Germain ahead of the 2024/25 campaign and featured in 21 games in her maiden campaign, with 17 of those coming in the Women’s Super League.

Spurs career

2025/26 – 21 appearances, started and played every minute until February, 2026, before suffering a season-ending injury with Australia in March

2024/25 – 21 appearances, two goals with both of them coming against Liverpool

Life before Spurs

She began her career at Canberra United, where she made her A-League debut in November, 2016, while during her time with the club, she achieved a Bachelor of Science at the University of Sydney.

She then joined Western Sydney Wanderers, captaining the side in her second season and was voted in the PFA A-League's Team of the Season for the 2022/23 campaign. After seven seasons in her native country, Clare moved to France to join Paris Saint-Germain, claiming silverware in her only season there as they lifted the French Cup in May, 2024.

International

The defender made her senior debut for Australia national team in February, 2023, before being selected for the 2023 FIFA World Cup on home soil, featuring in all seven games for the Matildas. She was also named in the 2024 Olympic squad in Paris, playing every single minute during their campaign, and most recently in their Women’s Asian Cup squad for 2025.
