Internationals - Sonny, Vic captain nations to wins

Heung-Min Son and Victor Wanyama captained their countries to friendly victories on Friday.

Victor scored the only goal of the game as Kenya beat Madagascar 1-0 in Paris. The midfielder slotted home from the penalty spot in the second half as the Harambee Stars continued preparations for the 2019 African Cup of Nations, which kicks-off in Egypt later this month.

Sonny took his tally to 82 caps and played the full 90 minutes as Hwang Ui-jo's goal in the 76th minute proved enough for South Korea to beat Australia in Busan. Sonny also forced a fine late save from Andrew Redmayne.

Christian Eriksen also put in a full shift as Denmark were denied maximum points the Republic of Ireland's late equaliser as the Euro 2020 qualifier ended 1-1 in Copenhagen. He was also denied by a fine save, this time Darren Randolph keeping out an early free-kick at the Parken Stadium.

Juan Foyth started and played 73 minutes as Argentina beat Nicaragua 5-1 in a friendly in San Juan in the early hours of Saturday. Juan partnered Nicolas Otamendi in central defence. Lionel Messi scored twice.

Serge Aurier was back in action and completed 90 minutes as Ivory Coast warmed-up for the Africa Cup of Nations with a 3-1 win over Comoros in Boulogne-sur-Mer, France.
