Players spread festive cheer with visit to local children’s wards

Players from our men’s and women’s teams spread some festive cheer as they visited youngsters at our local hospitals this week to deliver Christmas presents on behalf of the Club.

Harry Kane went back to where it all began for him when he spent time at his birthplace, Whipps Cross University Hospital in Leytonstone, alongside Lucas Moura, Ryan Sessegnon and Japhet Tanganga today (Friday 13 December).

Harry Kane is joined by Lucas Moura, Ryan Sessegnon and Japhet Tanganga as he returns to Whipps Cross Hospital - where he was born - to hand out presents to young children before Christmas.

Toby Alderweireld, Danny Rose, Kyle Walker-Peters and Academy coach Ryan Mason handed out gifts at North Middlesex Hospital in Edmonton while Christian Eriksen joined Club Captain Hugo Lloris and fellow goalkeepers Brandon Austin and Alfie Whiteman at Whittington Hospital in Archway.

Speaking after visiting Whipps Cross, Harry told us: "It has been great coming back to the place I was born to visit kids when they’re going through a tough time. Spending time with them and bringing presents is a small but hugely important thing we can do to help raise spirits and put smiles back on their faces. We hope everyone has a great Christmas."

Earlier this week, Tottenham Hotspur Women players Hannah Godfrey, Rachel Furness, Siri Worm and Megan Wynne visited patients at Barnet Hospital, which is located close to their home at The Hive.

They also spent time with parents at the Starlight neonatal ward, including Spurs fans Alex and Sarah, whose twins were born last month and are being cared for on the ward.

Speaking after her visit to Barnet, defender Hannah Godfrey said: “We absolutely loved the visit. Seeing the faces of the children and their families light up when they realise that people are thinking about them and want to spend time with them is something we’ll remember for a very long time.”

To round off this year’s hospital visits, players will deliver gifts to children at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow next week.
