Newly-promoted Crystal Palace are the first visitors to Brisbane Road in the opening game of our 2024/25 Barclays Women’s Super League on Sunday afternoon (2pm UK).

Sunday’s clash with the Eagles will be our sixth opening day fixture in England’s top flight following our promotion in May, 2019, with our first match at this level a narrow defeat at Chelsea on 8 September, 2019.

We then went unbeaten in our next three opening day fixtures, beating Birmingham City (2021/22) and Leicester City (2022/23) while picking up a point at West Ham United (2020/21).

It will just be the second time we will open our WSL campaign at home, having hosted Birmingham City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2021 as Kit Graham’s first half strike secured a 1-0 win.

Our opponents, Palace, will become the 19th different team to compete in the WSL, the first side debuting since Leicester City in 2021, while we have won six of our eight games against newly-promoted opposition.
