Lucas: ‘I’m so proud to be part of this team’

Lucas Moura is thriving off of our winning momentum – but is under no illusions about what’s going to be required to keep it going.

The Brazilian speedster has been in fine form of late, scoring three goals in his last four starts while also making some impressive contributions to Sunday’s 4-1 home victory over Crystal Palace.

It’s now four wins on the spin heading into Thursday’s UEFA Europa League clash with Dinamo Zagreb at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the team having scored four goals in three of those matches.

Always a beacon of energy and positivity, even when things aren’t going well, Lucas is loving life at the Club right now and, while he’s optimistic over our potential in both the Premier League and Europa League, he’s wary of the small margin for error if we’re to enjoy success come the end of the season.

“I’m so proud to be part of this team – we just need to enjoy every day and do our best,” smiled the forward, who is rapidly closing in on 150 games for the Club.

“We have unbelievable players, so much quality in the squad. We can counter, we can dominate, we can press high and have the ball all the time.

“If we play like we did on Sunday, we can achieve big things, but the fight in the table is so tight, very difficult and that’s why we cannot drop any more points.

“Now we have the Europa League, let’s change our minds and focus on that. It’s a competition we can win and we want to win.”
