We were sorry to hear of the recent passing of our former player Barrie Aitchison, who died on 23 November at the age of 84.
Barrie, a winger, arrived as a teenager from the Colchester Casuals club in February, 1954, and spent the next 10 years with us, featuring regularly for our reserves while also appearing for the first team in a friendly against an Army XI.
He left us for Colchester United in August, 1964, where he scored seven goals in 50 games.
We extend our condolences to his family and friends at this sad time.
