Spurs v United – the stats
Ahead of Manchester United’s visit to N17 on Sunday afternoon (4.30pm kick-off), we take a look through the key numbers behind the game.
Six and counting
The most goals a Premier League side has scored against Manchester United over the course of a single season is seven - a feat managed by three different clubs (Southampton in 1996/97, Chelsea in 1999/00 and Manchester City in both 2011/12 and 2013/14). Having scored six against the Red Devils in our 6-1 victory back in October, we could join that exclusive list by finding the back of the net on Sunday. In fact, if we score twice this weekend, we could become the first side to score eight against United in a single season in 58 years. The last team to do so was actually ourselves back in the 1962/63 campaign. That season we earned won 6-2 at White Hart Lane before going on to win 2-0 at Old Trafford.

Doubling up
Having already defeated Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men 6-1 at Old Trafford back in October, this Sunday we will be looking to complete our first league double over United since the 1989/90 season. That term we earned a 1-0 in the north west before triumphing 2-1 in our meeting in north London. If we are to complete the double over the Red Devils, it would be the first time a team has done so since Manchester City achieved the feat in 2018/19. We would also be the first Premier League side to complete a 'double' over United since Solsjkaer took charge.
Home and away
We have won each of our last three home Premier League games, scoring at least twice in each of those victories. The last time we managed to win four such games in a row - while also scoring at least twice in each fixture - was back in 2017 as, between February and May, we went on a run of seven consecutive home victories, which, coincidentally, also included a 2-1 triumph over Manchester United.
United, meanwhile, have been victorious on just one of their last eight trips to face us in the Premier League and have not beaten us in N17 since 2012. Sunday's opponents, however, are unbeaten in their last 22 Premier League away games (W14 D8) - a run that began way back in January, 2020. The Red Devils haven’t lost any of their last eight trips to London (W4 D4) but, they have drawn each of the last three by the same scoreline – 0-0. In terms of both home and away games, United are unbeaten in their last 10 Premier League outings (W5 D5) - the current longest such run in the competition.
On the front foot
Only three sides have scored more goals than us (51) in Premier League this season - and 32 of those have come via the duo of Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son.
Last time out against United, in that aforementioned 6-1 win, the prolific partnership was in fine form as they were involved in four of our six goals that day. Heung-Min Son scored twice in the rout to break his duck against United in the Premier League. Harry, meanwhile, also grabbed a brace that day - he has four goals in his last seven appearances against the Red Devils.
So far this season, our number 10 is leading the way in the Premier League goalscoring chart with 19 goals to his name. If he finds the back of the net against United on Sunday, it will be the fifth time he has registered 20+ goals in a season of the competition and the first time since 2017/18. Only Alan Shearer (7), Sergio Aguero (6) have recorded the tally more, with Thierry Henry also on five.
