Spurs vs Bristol City (WSL) | Robert’s preview: “We need to be really sharp”
With Bristol City coming to Brisbane Road on Sunday to provide the opposition for our first home game of the new Women’s Super League season, Robert Vilahamn has called on his players to dictate the game as much as possible.
Both sides go into the game looking for their first points of 2023/24 after respective losses to Chelsea and Leicester City last weekend.
For Head Coach Robert, it promises to be a tough test, but one he feels we are more than capable of getting through.
“We have Grace Clinton and Gracie Pearse who played there on loan last year which is good, because I have a lot of good information from last year, but also I saw their last game against Leicester and you can see that they are not doing exactly the same as last year, but that they have good quality players and a good coach,” he said.
“You can tell that they are going to fight for every point this year, so we need to be really sharp. Hopefully we can dictate the game more and being in our home stadium, try to play the way we want to.”
How much is Robert looking forward to his first game at Brisbane Road?
“We were actually training at the stadium on Thursday – it was my first time there and I think it’s a really nice stadium,” he added. “I saw the fans at Stamford Bridge and I could hear them as well, so I’m really looking forward to having them at our home stadium and playing in front of them.”
Kick-off on Sunday is at 2pm – tickets are available at the ground, while the game is also set to be streamed live on The FA Player.
