"Your support last night was incredible" - Son's thank you to fans

Heung-Min Son says he is filled with pride for the togetherness shown by our players and fans following our dramatic loss to Chelsea at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday night.
In an incident-packed London derby under the lights, red cards in either half to Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie meant we were outnumbered for the majority of the 110 minutes played overall which was compounded further when Micky van de Ven and James Maddison were forced off early through injury.
Drawing 1-1 at this point, after Dejan Kulusevski's deflected shot had given us a deserved early lead on six minutes and Cole Palmer levelled from the penalty spot in the 35th minute, the odds were stacked heavily against us as Chelsea finally made their extra advantage count with Nicolas Jackson's hat-trick sealing the win.
Led by our Club captain, who put in a serious shift with his constant running and pressing all night, the nine players on the pitch stood up admirably throughout and we had chances to level at 2-1 when Sonny forced a good low save from Robert Sanchez, Eric Dier was denied a volley for a narrow offside and Rodrigo Bentancur just failed to guide in a cross before their game-settling third in the 94th minute.
There were some standout individual displays - such as the inspired Guglielmo Vicario and the industrious Pedro Porro - and commendable last-ditch interventions from our makeshift back four, but the collective team spirit and endeavour to continue fighting until the very last whistle is something which continues to personify this team.
Although the result administered our first defeat in the Premier League this season, ending our impressive 10-game unbeaten start under Ange Postecoglou, the performance and work-rate of the players and the way the fans rallied around the squad in the face of adversity was admirable.
Our supporters in N17 certainly made their appreciation felt and played their part by cheering the team even when we conceded the third and fourth, showing the strong collective spirit amongst those connected with the Club and a reaction that filled our number seven with immense pride.
"Your support last night was incredible," said the South Korea international on social media. "We felt so much of your energy and atmosphere in the stadium. We made mistakes as a team, put ourselves in a tricky position. But hey, we will learn from these mistakes, we will bounce back, and we will be stronger together. I wake up this morning proud of the boys, proud of you the supporters, and excited to get straight back to work. COYS 🤍"
