Eveliina Summanen scored the opening goal in the third minute of Finland’s 4-1 win against Croatia in the Cyprus Cup on Thursday, swinging the ball beautifully into the top corner for the nation's first goal of 2023.
The result means Finland are top of their group stage with three points, alongside Romania, who have a lower goal difference. The two sides will meet on Wednesday in the final group game.
Spurs Women goalkeeper Tinja-Riikka Korpela was an unused substitute for Finland.
The same goes for Asmita Ale, who was on the bench for England U23s’ 0-0 draw with Spain; Mana Iwabuchi, who was on the bench for Japan’s 1-0 defeat to Brazil; and Shelina Zadorsky, who was on the bench for Canada’s 2-0 loss against United States in the SheBelieves Cup.
