Palace vs Spurs | Rob's tactical analysis, Ben's one to watch

Club commentator and pundit Rob Daly and Ben Haines, presenter of Inside Spurs, The Warm Up and The Review Show on SPURSPLAY take a look at Palace ahead of tonight's Premier League clash at Selhurst Park (8pm).

Rob's tactical analysis

"I commentated on Crystal Palace’s weekend loss to Newcastle and time and time again in the first half they were hurt down their left. Tyrick Mitchell was overloaded by Jacob Murphy and Kieran Tripper and both created goals from that side as they cruised to a 3-0 lead by half-time. Odsonne Edouard started that game on the left wing and perhaps didn’t provide the required defensive support and was switched out to the right at half-time. However, he is their best route to goal - having scored four times in the Premier League this season. There’s still no Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise for Palace. Without these injured two, and the since departure of Wilfried Zaha, there is a lack of creative spark. Joachim Andersen and Marc Guehi are a superb partnership, but Palace kept getting caught by smart runs from midfield by Sean Longstaff breaking in behind their defence - the kind of move Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie make in to the box, although the latter is a doubt of course for the game. Will Ange Postecoglou make changes having played four days beforehand? You’d expect Yves Bissouma to come in - but Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will be hoping to keep his place after a good display against Fulham. Brennan Johnson returned from injury last time out which was good news - Richarlison set up Heung-Min Son’s goal on Monday but maybe there could be rotation there? And if Udogie is out - will it be Emerson Royal at left-back after his cameo there vs Fulham? Those look like the questions ahead of kick-off at Selhurst Park..."

Ben's one to watch

"Another big three points on Monday and I think one of the biggest takeaways from our win against Fulham (and bearing in mind that we are top of the table) is that Ange will want to see even more from this Spurs side in terms of the performance. Having said this... there was still so much to enjoy on Monday night. One in particular for Spurs fans to keep an eye on on Friday night is Pape Matar Sarr. He was struggling a little bit with illness on Monday... but if that was him whilst struggling, still totally dominant in midfield, I can't wait to see him back to 100 per cent vs Palace. His engine is unbelievable and his positioning is magnificent. I don't think you can overstate the importance of the headed clearance he made at a crucial time in the second half against Fulham. On the Crystal Palace side, one player that has impressed me so far has been Joachim Andersen. He's calm on the ball and has a brilliant range of passing. He was a really shrewd signing for Palace after a good season on loan from Lyon at Fulham. He will be crucial for Palace given just how good James Maddison and Heung-Min Son have been at finding pockets of space against defensive lines. Hopefully, from a Spurs point of view, we give the Eagles defence an impossible task and fight our way through to pick up another three points. If we can have an even more impressive performance along the way - even better."
