Cristian Stellini says we have to be ‘perfect in both boxes’ to topple Manchester City in a huge Premier League encounter on Sunday afternoon (4.30pm).
We were just that for 50 minutes in our recent meeting at the Etihad (19 January) where we led 2-0 at half-time only for City to turn the game on its head with three goals in 12 minutes. We were pushing for an equaliser when they broke away to secure that game at 4-2, and even then, at 2-2, Ivan Perisic struck the woodwork.
Asked if we could be perfect for 90 minutes this time around at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Antonio’s assistant Cristian told SPURSPLAY: “We will try, for sure. It was a perfect first half at City. We had 12 minutes in the second half where we conceded three goals, but, we had a chance for 3-2, Ivan Perisic hit the bar, we were unlucky.
“It was a game where we fought to win. They are Manchester City, so you have to be well prepared for this game, and we feel we can do for 90 minutes what we did in the first half.”
Asked what you need to overcome Pep Guardiola’s side - something we’ve achieved on all four occasions we’ve met them so far at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Cristian added: “You have to create a great dynamic and be perfect in both boxes. The decision of this match will be made in both boxes. Yes, you have to be perfect…”
