WSL preview: Liverpool v Spurs

We take on Liverpool at Prenton Park in a 2pm kick-off in the Women’s Super League on Sunday.

We take on Liverpool at Prenton Park in a 2pm kick-off in the Women’s Super League on Sunday.

We’re looking to get points on the board and climb the table following last weekend’s 3-1 defeat away to Manchester City.

Liverpool were beaten 2-0 away to Arsenal on Wednesday night, Stina Blackstenius and Caitlin Foord the goalscorers.

Liverpool are currently eighth in the WSL, two points and two positions ahead of us with three wins from 13 games.

Matt Beard’s side began the campaign with a 2-1 win at home to Chelsea, before losing the Merseyside Derby at Anfield.

We were 1-0 victors in our previous meeting at Brisbane Road, Celin Bizet’s cross leading to a Niamh Fahey own goal in the 11th minute.

Rehanne’s thoughts

“Team news is looking promising this weekend. We’re getting people back in, which is a good thing. We’ll be missing Shelina Zadorsky for a little while due to an illness, but other than that we’re in a good place.

“Every game is important. We’re fighting for every point throughout the course of the season. Liverpool is the next game and we’ll be looking to get maximum points out of the game.

“We’re hoping Bethany England will be available for the weekend and in a position to play.”
