Team news | Arsenal vs Spurs (WSL) | Two key players back in contention

Robert Vilahamn confirmed that Ashleigh Neville and Drew Spence are back in contention ahead of Sunday’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium (12.30pm kick-off).

Drew has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since early November and hasn’t featured since the 1-1 draw with Everton at Brisbane Road, while Ashleigh has been out several weeks due to an ankle injury but the pair have returned to training and could be available for selection for the north London derby.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon, Robert said: “They [Ashleigh and Drew] are back in training and it’s a big chance they will be in the squad on Sunday so that’s some very good news.”

He added: “Those are two players that played a lot of minutes at the beginning of the season, especially when we started really well. I’m very happy to have them back and also for the rest of the squad.”

The players who were away over the last two weeks for international duty returned to Hotspur Way on Friday morning and Robert confirmed that everyone has come back fit and are also available for Sunday.
