Harry claims World Cup Golden Boot

Harry Kane has become the first Spur and only the second Englishman to win the World Cup's Golden Boot.

The striker and England captain, 24, scored six goals to take the prestigious trophy in the tournament in Russia.

Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann both scored as Hugo Lloris led France to final glory against Croatia on Sunday, but both ended on four goals.

Russia's Denis Cheryshev, Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo and Belgium's Romelu Lukaku also scored four times.

Harry scored twice including a last-minute winner in England's group opener against Tunisia and then became only the third English player after Geoff Hurst and Gary Lineker to score a hat-trick for the Three Lions at the World Cup with a trio against Panama in the second group match.

He then then scored his sixth in the dramatic last 16 win against Colombia.

Harry follows in the footsteps of Lineker who also scored six goals in Mexico in 1986. A former Spur who joined us in 1989, Lineker was at Everton at the time.

World greats Eusebio (1966), Gerd Muller (1974), Paolo Rossi (1982) and Ronaldo (2002) have also won the award.
