Matthew Craig has enjoyed quite the week for Doncaster Rovers as he provided his first-ever professional assist before scoring his maiden first team goal.

Having moved to Doncaster on loan last month, the midfielder has enjoyed a fine start to life in South Yorkshire and that was topped off over the last week as he has been involved in his first goals as a professional footballer.

Firstly, in a League Two meeting with Salford City last Tuesday, the midfielder - who made his senior debut for us in our 4-1 win at Leeds back in May -  provided his first assist as his cross from the left was drilled home Hakeeb Adelakun to put Rovers 2-1 ahead on 71 minutes at the Peninsula Stadium. They later conceded a 89th minute equaliser.

Then, on Saturday, Matthew curled home his first professional goal as his side ran out 5-1 winners over Grimsby Town to help them pull away from the relegation zone. With Rovers 3-1 up, the defensive midfielder popped up in the box on 72 minutes to roll home into the bottom right-hand corner as his side made it eight points from a possible 12.

That was the youngster's fifth appearance so far for Grant McCann's side.
