Craig helps Doncaster secure play-off place

Matthew Craig has helped loan side Doncaster Rovers to secure a place in the League Two Play-offs in the most incredible of fashions.

Having joined the South Yorkshire side on loan back in January when merely preserving their Football League status as they sat just four places above the relegation zone. However, after an inspired run since January, Donny are now looking up, rather than down, with a return to League One now in their sights.

Scoring his first goal in senior football back in February, Matthew then helped Rovers go on an insane run of wins, registering 13 victories in 16 outings, including a run of 10 consecutive wins which equalled the club's all-time record.

That came to an end on Saturday though as Gillingham came from 2-0 down to earn a 2-2 home draw with Doncaster. But that was enough to earn Donny a fifth-placed finish and a spot in the play-offs.

They are now set to face Crewe Alexandra for a place at Wembley in the Play-Off Final in a two-legged semi-final, the first leg on 6 May and the second on 10 May.
