Perisic's thanks to supporters

Thu 21 September 2023, 14:45|Tottenham Hotspur

Ivan Perisic has thanked fans for their messages of support following his ACL injury.

Confirmed yesterday (Wednesday 20 September), Ivan suffered a complex anterior cruciate ligament injury in non-contact training earlier this week.

The winger will now undergo surgery before commencing a rehabilitation programme with our medical team. It is expected that he will now miss the rest of our campaign.

Messages have poured in for the Croatia international, who has enjoyed a fine start to the season and was crucial in late, late comeback win over Sheffield United, coming off the bench to assist Richarlison's leveller before playing a key role in Dejan Kulusevski's winner. That was also the 34-year-old's 50th appearance in our colours.

Earlier today, Ivan posted a message of thanks to fans for their messages of support on his official instagram channel. He also posted a quote from NBA legend Michael Jordan as his inspiration in getting through what will undoubtedly be a tough period of rehabilitation. Our number 14 finished his post by saying "see you soon."

Ivan's message to supporters

"Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out to climb it, go through it or work around it. (M. Jordan)

"Thanks for all of your support. It means the world to me.

"See you soon."
