Rosella Ayane was a winner at the Moroccans of the World awards on Saturday night.

The awards ceremony took place in the renowned city of Casablanca, where Rosella was crowned in the Sport category.

Designed to celebrate models of success with inspiring backgrounds, the awards highlight exceptional Moroccans living abroad.

The legacy of the 2022 Women’s African Cup of Nations, where Morocco reached the final on home soil to qualify for their first ever FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023 thanks to the forward's winning penalty, is continuing to build.

Rosella made her debut for Morocco in June 2021 and, during the 2022 WAFCON campaign, scored two goals in six matches.

Since 2013, our number 23 has made 85 appearances in the Barclays Women’s Super League to date, coming across her spells at Chelsea, Bristol City and in Lilywhite.

Morocco are in a group with Germany, Republic of Korea and Colombia at the World Cup, which kicks-off on Thursday 20 July.
