Travel information for fans attending The Showdown 3: Saracens v Harlequins

Wed 22 March 2023, 10:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Fans attending the Premiership Rugby match between Saracens and Harlequins on Saturday (kick-off 3pm) are asked to take note of the following travel information, which includes details of the closure of the Central line between White City and Leytonstone...

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is highly accessible by public transport:

  • It is served by four stations (White Hart Lane, Northumberland Park, Tottenham Hale and Seven Sisters) providing access to London Overground, London Underground, Greater Anglia services and numerous TfL buses
  • Free high capacity shuttle bus services to and from the Piccadilly line at Wood Green and Greater Northern services at Alexandra Palace connect the stadium with other stations and services

There is ample cycle parking around the stadium. Walking routes to and from the stadium to stations and coach parks are all clearly signposted. Stewards will also be on hand to answer any questions.

Wherever fans are travelling from, particularly if they have never been to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before, we recommend using this detailed travel advice and the information below to plan their journey in advance.

Scheduled track closures

Supporters are advised that the Central line service is not in operation between White City and Leytonstone. This includes Liverpool Street station. Replacement buses operate between Stratford and Leytonstone only. The Elizabeth Line is fully operational and can be used as an alternative to the Central line.

Shuttle Buses

Supporters are reminded that the Club operates a free Shuttle Bus service from Wood Green (Piccadilly Line) and Alexandra Palace (Great Northern) stations to the stadium.

The Great Northern line will operate at four trains per hour each way through Alexandra Palace throughout the day.

Stations

Information on the location and distances from the stadium to each station can be found here...

Tottenham Hale

Tottenham Hale is a fully accessible station with access to and between Victoria line and Greater Anglia services. Greater Anglia platforms are fully accessible from the concourse, which has entry and exit ramps.

Supporters using the Victoria line, including wheelchair users and those with limited mobility, are advised to use Tottenham Hale rather than Seven Sisters as it is a shorter journey to and from the stadium.

White Hart Lane

Four trains per hour are expected to call at White Hart Lane in both directions throughout the day. All trains will be made up of eight carriages.

Supporters travelling to Liverpool Street post-match are reminded that Northumberland Park services have greater capacity to those from White Hart Lane and are faster because they have fewer stops.

White Hart Lane is a fully accessible station.

Northumberland Park

Greater Anglia will operate eight trains per hour in both directions via Northumberland Park throughout the day. Of these, two trains per hour will operate each way between Liverpool Street and Hertford East, Liverpool Street and Cambridge, Stratford and Bishops Stortford and Stratford and Meridian Water, respectively. Additionally, the half-hourly southbound Stansted Express trains will call at Northumberland Park after the match to provide six trains an hour to Liverpool Street.

Supporters are advised to use Northumberland Park if using Greater Anglia services as it is a shorter distance to the stadium than Tottenham Hale.

The Central Line service is not in operation between White City and Leytonstone. This includes Liverpool Street. The Elizabeth line is fully operational and can be used as an alternative to the Central line.

All train services are shown on www.nationalrail.co.uk.

Seven Sisters

Victoria line services will be operating every 2-3 minutes in both directions pre and post-match.

Pre-match, the Birstall Road diversion route will be in place at Seven Sisters station for interchange between the Victoria line and London Overground services to avoid congestion on the northbound platform.

Post-match

We expect approximately half the event attendees to depart the Tottenham area via the Victoria line. Queues can be expected at the High Road entrance to Seven Sisters station. Post-match queues can also be expected at White Hart Lane station for northbound and southbound services. Northumberland Park and Tottenham Hale will be less busy with no significant delays expected at either station.

Supporters are advised to avoid station queues and enjoy the food and drink available in the stadium. Last orders are at 5.45pm with bars closing at 6pm and the stadium and the South Stand Fan Zone closing at 6.30pm.

Queue management

Queue management systems will be in place at all stations. Supporters are asked to respect and work with staff at our stations and follow their instructions at all times.

We thank you for your co-operation.

TFL Buses

Prior to the match the W3 will follow its normal route but the 149, 259, 279 and 349 services will be diverted away from the High Road at least two hours before the game.

Post-match, the TfL bus services will return to normal operation as soon as possible after the local road closures are lifted. More information on road closures can be found below.

Maps of bus routes can be found here...

Cycling

For supporters wishing to cycle to the stadium, bike stands are available at Tottenham Community Sports Centre and St Francis De Sales School, which are both located on the High Road. Dedicated bicycle parking is also available on-street around the stadium.

Although our Bag Policy still applies, stewards will be briefed regarding cyclists’ need to carry helmets, puncture kits and removable seats into the stadium.

Please note, our major event day road closure measures will be in place.
