Spurs v Portsmouth – how to watch, team news, kit colours, key information

Fri 06 January 2023, 18:47|Tottenham Hotspur

Our journey in this season’s Emirates FA Cup begins on Saturday as we welcome Portsmouth to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in our third round tie (kick-off 12.30pm UK).

We haven’t played Pompey since losing out to them in the semi-finals of this competition in 2009/10 – they arrive 12th in League One and having parted company with Head Coach Danny Cowley earlier this week.

Here’s all the information you need to know ahead of the match...

How can I watch the game?

Saturday’s match will be televised live in the UK via the BBC Red Button, kick-off 12.30pm.

Live radio coverage will be available on talkSPORT and BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra while full audio commentary along with minute-by-minute text updates, goal alerts, stats and pictures can be found on our Match Centre here on tottenhamhotspur.com and the Spurs Official app.

In addition, our popular N17 Live pre-match show will be available on SPURSPLAY from 11.30am UK.

Worldwide broadcast listings are available here.

What is the team news?

Yves Bissouma is back from suspension and could feature in midfield for us, although Rodrigo Bentancur, Dejan Kulusevski, Richarlison and Lucas Moura remain sidelined.

Our young striker Dane Scarlett is ineligible to feature for Portsmouth under the terms of his loan to them, while Marlon Pack begins a two-game ban.

Tom Lowery, Joe Rafferty, Jayden Reid and skipper Clark Robertson are out injured, but Louis Thompson and Kieron Freeman could be involved after returning from spells on the sidelines.

What colours will the teams be playing in?

We’ll be wearing our 2022/23 home kit as usual – Lilywhite shirts, navy blue shorts and white socks – while our goalkeeper will play in all yellow.

Portsmouth will arrive in blue shirts, white shorts and red socks, with their keeper in all orange.

Who is the referee?

Thomas Bramall takes charge of Saturday’s tie, assisted by Derek Eaton and Steven Meredith.

The fourth official will be Carl Boyeson with Graham Scott and assistant Darren Cann on VAR duty.

What will the weather conditions be like?

Rain is forecast in north London on Saturday. Temperatures should be around 10 degrees.

How can I get the matchday programme?

Goalkeeper Fraser Forster is the subject of our main feature interview in Saturday’s official matchday programme, discussing his first few months at the Club. Young midfielder Harvey White also reflects on his time on loan at Portsmouth, while Head Coach Antonio Conte has his say in his usual programme column.

Priced at £4, buy your copy from the Spurs Shop at the Tottenham Experience, various pods situated around the stadium or from the Tap Inn Bars or Goal Line Bar within the ground itself. Fans not attending the game can order the programme online here for delivery direct to your door.
