Premier League 2 fixtures for 2023/24 revealed

Wed 02 August 2023, 15:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Our Under-21s have today learned of their opponents for 2023/24 in the newly-reformatted Premier League 2, with a trip to Manchester City up first on Saturday 12 August.

Despite finishing in the bottom two on goal difference at the end of last term, a merger of the two Premier League 2 divisions over the summer means that we remain in the now-expanded top flight.

For the new campaign, there will be one division made up of the 26 clubs with Category One Academies, with participating teams divided into five pots based on performances over the past three seasons – fixtures have been determined by a draw made according to clubs’ positions in the five seeded pots.

Each team will play 20 regular-season matches, facing each club in their own seeding pot once, as well as three to five teams in all other pots either at home or away. Results (three points for a win and one point for a draw) will generate a table ranking the 26 teams, with the top 16 teams qualifying for a single elimination play-off towards the end of the season.

In that part of the campaign, teams will be drawn against each other based on their league positions in one-off elimination matches with the higher-seeded team at home.

Our full provisional fixture list can be found below – supporters are reminded that all fixture dates, venues and kick-off times are subject to change.

As was the case last season, our Under-21s’ home and selected away matches will be shown live on SPURSPLAY where Premier League broadcast permissions allow – sign up today ahead of the start of the new campaign!
