England brace secures WSL draw against Brighton - on-the-whistle-report

We twice came from behind to draw 2-2 against Brighton & Hove Albion at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Barclays Women's Super League on Saturday evening.

Elisabeth Terland gave Brighton the lead early on, but Bethany England equalised instantly. Lee Geum-Min put Brighton ahead again in the second half, before our number 19 smashed in our second.

Interim Head Coach Vicky Jepson made one change to the side that started last weekend's 3-3 draw against Aston Villa, Rosella Ayane coming in for Asmita Ale, with Ashleigh Neville returning to right-back.

Katie Robinson began the game looking dangerous down the right wing for the visitors, and it was her ball into the box that was put into the back of the net by Terland to give Brighton the lead inside nine minutes.

But we responded straight away, Kerys Harrop's corner flicked on by Eveliina Summanen and England in the right place at the right time to nod home for her eighth goal in 11 games in all competitions for Tottenham.

Drew Spence saw an effort go wide of the post before Veatriki Sarri fired over from distance. Summanen's shot met the same fate at the other end after she had the ball set back to her by England.

Summanen carried us forward well in the 36th minute before going for goal from long range, the effort flying wide of the post.

Rebecca Spencer did well to make an important save to deny Sarri with half-time approaching, and Celin Bizet then drifted in from the right wing before curling wide of the far post on her left foot.

Sarri struck a volley straight at Spencer and we went into the half-time break level.

Terland had a good opportunity for Brighton to take the lead again early in the second half as she headed wide a cross from Lee Geum-Min.

With just over half an hour remaining, we replaced Spence with Kit Graham.

In the 65th minute, Robinson carried the ball in from the right and picked out Lee, who found the bottom right corner for 2-1 to Brighton.

Mana Iwabuchi and Jessica Naz came on for Rosella Ayane and Bizet respectively with 20 minutes to go.

Sarri played the ball back to Megan Connolly as Brighton looked for a third, but the shot was straight at Spencer.

With 13 minutes to go, Graham played a beautiful ball through to England who made no mistake, smashing it into the roof of the net past Lydia Williams.

Eight minutes remaining, there was a big hug for Ria Percival from England, the latter making way for Percival to return to the pitch after more than a year out with injury.

Graham's corner was headed over by Ashleigh Neville as we battled to take all three points, and James struck over from distance as the spoils were shared.
