NFL International Games announced for 2022

Wed 04 May 2022, 13:00|Tottenham Hotspur

The National Football League (NFL) today announced the opponents and dates for its five 2022 international regular-season games – including two games at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on back-to-back weekends to kick off the series.

Games taking place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium are as follows:

  • Minnesota Vikings vs New Orleans Saints, Sunday 2 October, 2.30pm
  • New York Giants vs Green Bay Packers, Sunday 9 October, 2.30pm

The Saints and Vikings will each play in the UK for the third time.  Both teams have won on two previous occasions in the UK and will make their debut at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Packers, NFC North champions for the third consecutive year, will face the Giants in their first international trip, becoming the 32nd NFL team to play in London since 2007.

The Giants will play in the UK for the third time, having won the inaugural London game at Wembley Stadium in 2007 and the first game played at Twickenham Stadium in 2016.  This will be their first game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Todd Kline, Chief Commercial Officer, Tottenham Hotspur, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming all four teams to our magnificent stadium for the first time.

“The experience of the teams that have previously visited in 2019 and 2021 has been overwhelmingly positive, with the bespoke facilities and incredible atmosphere Tottenham Hotspur Stadium provides making it truly the home of the NFL in the UK.

“With pandemic restrictions now over, we are looking forward to welcoming travelling fans from the US back to N17, along with the ever-growing following that the NFL is building throughout Europe.”

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is the first purpose-built NFL stadium outside of the US and is proud to host a minimum of two games per year over a 10-year partnership.

It features dedicated locker rooms for players, officials and cheerleaders as well as its own broadcast, media and medical facilities. An artificial field underneath our revolutionary retractable grass pitch means the NFL also has its own playing surface.
