We are delighted to announce the signing of Angharad James.

The Wales international has signed a contract with us until 2024 with the option to extend for a further year.

Angharad arrives from Orlando Pride where she made 11 appearances after signing for the NWSL side in December, 2021.

Born in Haverfordwest, the midfielder began her youth career at Arsenal before making her professional debut in a 6-0 win over Bobruichanka Bobruisk in the UEFA Women’s Champions League in October, 2011.

She joined Bristol City ahead of the 2012 WSL season and made an instant impact, helping her side to reach the final of the FA Women’s Cup.

Spells at Notts County, Yeovil Town, Everton and Reading followed, where she featured 29 times and started every game for Kelly Chambers’ side in 2020/21.

In February, 2021, after a decade in the WSL, she made the switch from Reading to North Carolina Courage, registering 17 appearances.

Vastly experienced at international level, Angharad made her senior debut for Wales at the age of 17 in October, 2011, and is now three appearances away from a century of caps.

The 28-year-old was named Wales Women’s Player of the Year in 2017 after scooping back-to-back Young Player of the Year accolades in 2013 and 2014.

Head Coach Rehanne Skinner said: “I am pleased to welcome Haz to the Club, having previously worked together at Arsenal and the Wales national team. She is a very experienced midfielder who will add quality to the team both in and out of possession. Her growth and impact on the pitch has been evident and we feel she will thrive in our style of play.”
