Richy scores again as Brazil progress, but Sonny bows out in Qatar

Richarlison scored another goal to remember as Brazil blew away Heung-Min Son's Korea in their World Cup Round of 16 clash in Qatar on Monday evening.

With his side already 2-0 up, Richarlison controlled the ball three times on his head before spinning away from Hwang In-beom and passing into Marquinhos on the edge of the box. Marquinhos played a first-time pass into fellow centre-back Thiago Silva, he picked out Richarlison with another first-time pass, and the striker did the rest, slotting home from eight yards for 3-0 inside 30 minutes.

Vinicius Junior put Brazil ahead on seven minutes, Richarlison was then brought down for a penalty converted by Neymar on 13 minutes, Richy made it 3-0 on 29 and Lucas Paqueta completed Brazil's scoring with the fourth by half-time.

It wasn't to be for Sonny, who was denied by a superb save from Allison, and then blocked twice in front of goal by Marquinhos. Korea did grab a consolation via Paik Seung-ho's fine strike on 76 minutes.

Richarlison is now up to three goals, and joins Spurs team-mates Cristian Romero, Ivan Perisic, Eric Dier, Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris in the quarter-finals. Brazil face Ivan's Croatia on Friday (3pm).
