Antonio Conte has urged the team to capitalise on our recent momentum when we head to Aston Villa on Saturday (5.30pm UK).

We’ve won four of our last five games to climb back into the Premier League’s top four, scoring 17 goals along the way.

Although the Head Coach expects a tough game in a challenging atmosphere at Villa Park, he believes we can overcome the obstacles in front of us and continue on an upward trajectory.

“Steven Gerrard is doing a great job with Aston Villa,” he told Spurs TV as we prepare to take on a side managed by the Liverpool and England legend for the first time.

“We are talking about a team that is very dangerous because when they attack, they have players who are very fast, good technically, they attack with many players – they are very dangerous. For this reason, we have to pay great attention defensively. They are doing well, the atmosphere around the stadium when you play away against Aston Villa is very tough for the opponent, but at the same time we have to know this and we have to manage this type of pressure, this type of atmosphere.

We are playing good football, enjoying playing this type of football and we want to continue in this way.

“We know that our fans will follow us in a good way and we want to try to give them satisfaction, and to try to get three points. It won’t be easy to play against Aston Villa, but at the same time I think that we are in a good moment – we are playing good football, enjoying playing this type of football and we want to continue in this way.”

Saturday could also see Antonio find his charges up against Ashley Young, who starred for him during his time in charge of Inter Milan in 2019/20 and 2020/21.

“Yes, Ashley Young… we spent two seasons in Inter Milan, he’s a really good player and a good man,” added the boss. “We spent two fantastic seasons (together), he played with me good games, we won the title, we played the final in the Europa League – it will be a pleasure for me to see him again.”
