Sun 26 September 2021, 09:08|Tottenham Hotspur

Anthony Joshua was defeated by Oleksandr Usyk as Tottenham Hotspur Stadium hosted world championship boxing for the first time on Saturday evening (25 September).

The stadium put on a spectacular show for the six-bout card, capped by Usyk’s stunning victory by unanimous decision to become the new unified world heavyweight champion.

The Ukrainian produced a superb performance to see off Britain’s Joshua over 12 rounds as the scorecards – 117-112, 116-112, 115-113 – all went in his favour.

He claimed the WBA, IBF and WBO belts in front of 66,267 fans – a new attendance record for the stadium.

Earlier in the night, Lawrence Okolie retained his world cruiserweight title with a third-round knockout of Dilan Prasovic, while Campbell Hatton – son of Ricky Hatton – kept his unbeaten record with a points win over Sonni Martinez.

Callum Smith beat Lenin Castillo by knockout in the second round, Florian Marku dethroned IBF International welterweight titleholder Maxim Prodan by split decision and Christopher Ousley took a 10-round majority decision over Khasan Baysangurov for the WBA Intercontinental title.
