Mon 04 October 2021, 15:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Alfie Devine has been nominated for September’s Premier League 2 Player of the Month award.

The 17-year-old has been an influential figure in our Under-23 side over the last few weeks, scoring both goals in our 2-1 home win over his former club, Liverpool, on 11 September and also finding the net in our 3-1 home victory over Derby County just over a fortnight later.

Operating in various positions across the front line, he also impressed in our 3-3 draw at Blackburn Rovers on 17 September.

He’s subsequently carried over his goalscoring form into October, finding the net in last Friday’s 4-3 defeat at Crystal Palace.

Alfie is on a seven-man shortlist for the award that includes Folarin Balogun (Arsenal), Sam Burns (Blackburn Rovers), Caleb Chukwuemeka (Aston Villa), Baba Fernandes (Nottingham Forest), Joe Gelhardt (Leeds United) and Jesurun Rak-Sakyi (Crystal Palace).

The shortlist was determined by the Premier League’s Football Development Panel after club coaches nominated the best performance by an opposition player in each of their matches during last month. The panel will also decide the winner.
