Leyton Orient v Spurs – how to watch, team news, key information

Fri 16 July 2021, 21:19|Tottenham Hotspur

We travel to The Breyer Group Stadium to take on Leyton Orient in our first pre-season outing of the summer on Saturday, and our first match under new Head Coach Nuno Espirito Santo.

Now managed by Kenny Jackett, the O’s battled out a goalless draw with West Ham last week, having previously lost 3-0 to Dundee during a training camp in Scotland.

We’ll be competing for the JE3 Foundation Trophy on Saturday, in memory of our legendary former player and ex-Orient boss Justin Edinburgh. The JE3 Foundation, set up by Justin’s family, aims to support UK heart health charities and to campaign for legislative change to make it compulsory for all health, fitness and sports facilities to be equipped with a Public Access Defibrillator (PAD).

Orient are the current holders of the trophy after their victory over our Development Squad last summer.

Ahead of the 3pm kick-off, here’s all you need to know...

How can I watch the game?

The match kicks-off at 3pm UK time and is available to watch for free on Spurs TV.

Simply visit Spurs TV and you’ll be able to enjoy free live coverage of our pre-season friendlies at Orient, Colchester United and MK Dons.

How will the teams line up?

Nuno is expected to call on many of the players who returned to pre-season training at the beginning of this month.

For the hosts, Adam Thompson and new signing Harry Smith will miss out.

What is happening before the game and what colours will the teams be playing in?

There will be a minute’s applause prior to kick-off in memory of former Spurs and Leyton Orient player Dave Dunmore, who sadly passed away last Sunday after a brave battle with dementia. He was 87.

During the match itself, Orient will play in all red, with their goalkeeper in yellow.

We’ll be in our home kit of Lilywhite shirts with blue shorts and blue socks, with our keeper in green.

What will the weather be like?

It’s set to be a bright, sunny day in London on Saturday, with temperatures reaching 26 degrees.
