As Toby Alderweireld departs north London for pastures new in Qatar, we take a look back at the defender’s Spurs career in pictures.

Signed from Atletico Madrid in August, 2015, Toby made an immediate impact in our colours as he was named as our Player of the Season at the end of his debut campaign. Forming a formidable partnership at the heart of our defence alongside compatriot Jan Vertonghen, the Belgian then helped us to our best-ever finish in the Premier League of second in 2016/17 as well as our best defensive record in such a campaign (26 goals conceded).

The centre-back was also a key part of the team which reached the Champions League Final in 2019, starting 12 out of our 13 games that campaign, including the Madrid showpiece.

In total, he made 236 appearances for us in all competitions, scoring nine times.
