Sergio and NFL star Matt join us on N17 Live on Sunday!

Fri 05 February 2021, 17:41|Tottenham Hotspur

We've a couple of special guests on N17 Live on Sunday - Sergio Reguilon and NFL kicker and Spurs fan, Matt Gay.

'Reggy' is currently recovering from injury and will unfortunately miss the Premier League encounter against West Brom. However, he will join presenter Ben Haines to talk all things Spurs from 11.15am, ahead of Sunday's 12noon kick-off.

Snapped up from Real Madrid in the summer, Sergio's energy and electric pace up and down the left flank, plus a deadly delivery with his left foot, has impressed everyone. He will join Ben and Spurs TV commentator Rob Daly for the team news, the players warming up and discuss all the latest talking points.

Other highlights - Matt Gay

There was a Spurs fan in the thick of the action when the NFL historically arrived in N17 for the first time in October, 2019. Matt Gay was then kicker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who lost out against Carolina Panthers in the second match of that memorable couple of weeks when the stadium was spectacularly transformed into NFL mode.

We spoke to Matt afterwards. "That was a special moment," he said. "It’s come full circle, being here (Matt had visited the stadium twice in the last couple of years, without seeing a game) and now returning to actually play in the stadium, that’s special."

Matt moved from the Bucs to LA Rams last year. He had an 87.5% success rate from his field goals, including a late matchwinner against - you've guessed it - the Bucs in November. Rams might have beaten Bucs that day but, with legendary QB Tom Brady at the helm, Bucs reached the Super Bowl by beating Green Bay Packers on 24 January. They now face reigning champions Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV on Sunday - and who better than Matt to talk Spurs and the Super Bowl?

Staying with the US theme, we'll also hear from Carlos of Tampa Ybor Spurs Official Supporters Club as his club gets ready for an early kick-off against West Brom - and the Super Bowl!
