Sonny's virtual visit to the London Korean School

Tue 24 August 2021, 17:45|Tottenham Hotspur

Heung-Min Son joined students from the London Korean School today for a virtual Q&A during the summer holidays.

The South Korean national team captain answered questions from over 30 students at the school. The London Korean School, based in Surrey, has over 200 students ranging from five to 16 years old and is attended by children of Korean families based in the UK.

During the call, the group had the opportunity to ask Sonny questions including how he keeps motivated, tips on how to be more confident and what he would be doing if he wasn’t a footballer.

The students also had a special surprise for Sonny - they had prepared posters and good luck cards for him to show their support this season.

Speaking after the call, Sonny commented: “It was brilliant to speak with the students from the London Korean School today. It was great to be able to talk about what inspired me to become a footballer and to give them some advice and tips. Thank you to all the students for their good luck posters and cards - they were brilliant! I hope they enjoy the remainder of their summer holidays.”

Ms Jihae Kim, Deputy Head of London Korean School, said: “It was so lovely that pupils from London Korean School were able to talk with Heung-Min Son today, a national hero in South Korea. The students were overjoyed to be able to talk with Sonny and this will be a day they remember for a long time. Thank you to Sonny and the Club for providing such a wonderful opportunity.”

As part of our pre-season programme, our Global Football Development team delivered a coaching session at the school, providing an insight into the Tottenham Hotspur coaching philosophy to students.

Our Global Football Development coaches deliver world-class technical programmes, educational talks, workshops, and exercises classes around the world with the aim to keep children physically active and promote a positive mental wellbeing.

Inspired by our South Korean internationals Sonny and So-hyun Cho, our expert coaches showcased the authentic training methods developed within the Club’s Academy, helping young players to reach their full potential.
