Positivity is never far away from Lucas Moura - and those were the signals again from the Brazilian at open training on Saturday.

It’s now less than a fortnight before the big kick-off against Manchester City in the Premier League at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday 15 August (4.30pm).

Pre-season will also now shift up a gear as we take part in The Mind Series and matches against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night (7.45pm) and Arsenal at home on Sunday (2pm, part of a double-header with Tottenham Hotspur Women, 4.45pm).

Lucas has hit the ground running with two goals and two assists in friendlies against Leyton Orient, Colchester and MK Dons. He was electric at Stadium MK last week, setting up Heung-Min Son’s opener, leaving MK players in his wake to allow Sonny to set up Dele for 2-0 and then scoring the third himself.

“I feel very positive for the season,” said Lucas, who has featured in 146 of our last 168 matches in all competitions. “I think we can reach big things. Let’s do our best, let’s fight to achieve some objectives. We are all working very hard. Let’s do our best for the season.”

Lucas’ family was there for a popular, well-attended open training event, and he added: “The feeling is amazing to have the fans back. I feel very excited, taking pictures, signing some shirts. I’m a fan as well, I love football, I always say football is about fans and to have this feeling again in our stadium is amazing.”
