Hugo’s 300 and our all-time league appearance makers

Mon 23 August 2021, 12:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Hugo Lloris made Club history at Molineux on Sunday as he became the first player to make it to 300 appearances for us in the Premier League.

In doing so, the Club and French World Cup winning captain toppled Darren Anderton’s long-standing mark of 299, put together between 1992-2004. And Hugo celebrated in the best possible way - a 1-0 win against Wolves and his 106th clean sheet in the competition.

Hugo is now up to 375 appearances in all competitions having joined us from Lyon back in August, 2012. He’s already into the top 20 of our all-time appearance makers, and just moved above legendary former skipper Alan Mullery (373). Cliff Jones (378), Jimmy Greaves (379) and double-winning skipper Danny Blanchflower (382) are next in his sights.

Not surprisingly, our top three all-time appearance makers are also the top three in terms of league appearances for the Club - Steve Perryman (854 appearances/655 league), Gary Mabbutt (611/477) and Pat Jennings (590/472).
