October international fixtures for our players

Wed 07 October 2020, 08:45|Tottenham Hotspur

The October international break is upon us, with some of our players facing up to three matches with their countries over the next eight days.

UEFA Nations League matches are once again on the agenda for most along with some international friendlies, one of which sees England – with Eric Dier, Harry Kane and Harry Winks in their squad – hosting Ben Davies' Wales at Wembley on Thursday this week, the same night that Toby Alderweireld's Belgium plays host to Serge Aurier's Ivory Coast.

The Three Lions trio could then find themselves up against Toby when Gareth Southgate's men host Belgium in the Nations League on Sunday, before Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg comes to Wembley with Denmark, again in the Nations League, next Wednesday night.

Matt Doherty's Republic of Ireland face Slovakia in their delayed Euro 2020 qualifying play-off on Thursday before turning their attentions to the Nations League, where they face Ben's Wales on Sunday, while Davinson Sanchez and Juan Foyth – the latter having just joined Villarreal on loan – are in World Cup qualifying action with Colombia and Argentina respectively.

Giovani Lo Celso (Argentina), Steven Bergwijn (Netherlands) and Japhet Tanganga (England Under-21) will not feature after withdrawing from their respective squads.

At Under-18 international level, there are training camps for Nile John (England) and Maksim Paskotsi (Estonia).
