Kane moves into Premier League's top 10 goalscorers

Mon 02 November 2020, 17:14|Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane has moved into the Premier League's all-time top 10 goalscoring list.

The striker's penalty in our 2-1 win against Brighton on Sunday took him to 149 goals in 217 Premier League appearances (including three appearances for Norwich City in 2012/13), joint 10th with former Spur Les Ferdinand. He's also up to 199 goals for Spurs in 299 appearances in all competitions.

Harry, 27, has scored six goals in seven games in the Premier League so far this season. He's also racked up eight assists as his partnership with Heung-Min Son - eight goals, two assists in 2020/21 - continues to blossom. Their 29 goal combinations is now equal second all-time in the competition, seven adrift of Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard for Chelsea.

Speaking about hitting 149, and being so close to 200 for the Club, Harry told us post-match: "Like I always say, keep them coming! When I cross those bridges it’s always nice, but I always look forward to the next one. Hopefully, plenty more left in me, and the most important thing is we’re winning games."

There are a few familiar names in the top 10. 'Sir Les' scored 33 of his 149 Premier League goals during five years at Spurs while Jermain Defoe, fifth in our all-time list on 143, scored 91 Premier League goals for us in two spells between 2004-2014. Meanwhile, Teddy Sheringham, our all-time top scorer in the Premier League with 97 until being overtaken by Harry in 2018, is just below the top 10 on 146.
