On-loan Brandon Austin has become the first Spurs player to taste match action since lockdown, playing a key role in Viborg FF’s 1-1 draw with Skive in the Danish NordicBet LIGA on Friday evening.
The 21-year-old goalkeeper, on loan at Viborg until the end of the season, had impressed in his first two competitive outings for the Greens prior to the suspension of football due to the outbreak of coronavirus in March.
After playing for an hour in a midweek friendly at Hobro, which finished 1-1, he picked up from where he left off two-and-a-half months ago with a vital contribution to his side’s league draw with Skive at Energi Viborg Arena in central Jutland.
With his team trailing to Mikkel Vendelbo’s early effort, Brandon made a superb save to prevent the visitors from sealing victory deep into stoppage time, with Alassana Jatta scoring just seconds later at the other end to salvage a deserved point for the hard-working hosts.
Viborg, second in the Danish second tier, are scheduled to visit Kolding IF next Friday (5 June).
