We travel to Vicarage Road to face Watford in the Premier League's early kick-off (12.30pm) on Saturday - here is Jose Mourinho's latest five-point preview...

1 - This week

Positives against Liverpool, victory in the FA Cup against Middlesbrough and the arrival of Gedson Fernandes - how did Jose view the week?

Jose: “Against Liverpool we left a positive and a negative impact, obviously the positive was so many good things that we did in the game and Middlesbrough, the result was important because we go to the next round, but if you look into the result and the performance, there is no relation, the result was too short for what we did. So yes, good things. We managed to rest a couple of players, no new injuries, Lamela in for his first 90 minutes, okay, and these days before Watford have been important to work for a very difficult match against a team at the top of their form.”

2 - Gedson

Gedson Fernandes joined the Club on loan from Benfica on Wednesday. What could Jose tell us about the young Portuguese midfielder?

Jose: “He’s a player who can play in different positions in midfield, in different systems, he’s quite multi-functional in that sense. Of course, young, of course with a huge desire to prove himself in the league of his dreams because he always wanted to come to England. At the same time, he has experience, Benfica is a big club, he’s played in Champions League matches, for example away at Bayern Munich and Galatasaray, not easy matches for a kid. He did it. He only has two ‘A’ caps for the national team, but two caps at the age of 19, 20 prove that he’s a kid with a certain level of experience. It’s an incredible story because he’s so happy to come to Tottenham and London, where his family live for a few years.”

3 - Gedson - patience?

It was put to Jose that players usually need time to adapt to the Premier League - was it a case of having patience as Gedson settles in?

Jose: “In this moment, we need him, with the injuries we have, with the problems we have. It’s one thing for Gedson to come here at the beginning of the season with everyone and with time to grow up before competition, in this case, he has to grow up during competition, which is a different thing. But the kid is confident, easy to communicate with because he speaks fluent English, so he’s one not to resolve our problems, that’s not what we are expecting from him, but one to help us resolve our problems.”

4 - Lucas and Hugo

Jose was asked in his pre-match press conference about Lucas Moura’s form and Hugo Lloris’ fitness as the skipper returns to training...

Jose: “Lucas is playing fantastically, working incredibly. He’s playing every minute. In the last match, I managed to give him 30 minutes rest. He’s living a very good moment. It’s a great thing for the player to know that the coach likes him a lot. He knows that I tried to buy him at Real Madrid when he was still in Brazil. The good feeling comes from many years ago. I think I’m bringing him to a certain level of confidence, of work rate, of commitment to the team, of responsibility that, with the talent he always had, he’s at a very good level. But at the moment, no rotation, it’s just play, play, play and I hope the gasoline doesn’t end."

On Hugo's return, Jose said: “The normal answer is February. If you ask me early February or late February, at this moment I go more for ‘early’. Things are going well, he’s getting his confidence back, he’s training.”

5 - Watford

Watford are unbeaten in six, winning four and have lost just one of seven since Nigel Pearson’s appointment in December, including home wins over United and Wolves. What is Jose expecting from the Hornets at Vicarage Road?

Jose: “It’s always tricky, Watford. I always felt that every time I go there - great atmosphere, great support. The players are very adapted to his style his of play, to his style of management. You look at that team, a very English team, I’m not saying they (the players) are English, but the style - very strong physically, very competitive, Deeney, then the runners after Deeney, very strong midfield, very experienced and strong centre-backs, a goalkeeper all his career in the Premier League, strong on set-pieces, strong defensively... difficult, but we go with our style, with our qualities and we hope we can get the result.”
