'Planes, train(ing) and automobiles' – Gazzaniga keeping busy at home!

Tue 28 April 2020, 19:45|Tottenham Hotspur

Lockdown life has been hectic for Paulo Gazzaniga.

Like his team-mates, our Argentine international goalkeeper has been keeping himself in shape over the last few weeks, working hard on his individual daily training programme while linking up with the rest of the squad and our coaching staff from home via online group video sessions.

Always somebody who maintains a positive frame of mind, the 28-year-old has been determined to stay busy during any down time he’s had around training exercises – and he’s certainly done that so far, with everything from model planes to real-life car maintenance on his agenda.

“Thankfully I’m fine at home with my partner Patricia and Teo, my dog. We are very respectful of this situation that everybody is in,” he said this week, keen to highlight the continued difficulty of society’s coronavirus predicament.

We’ve put together a puzzle of 1,000 pieces and now I’ve bought a scale model of an airplane that I’m building.

“It’s been positive to train together with the team online from my house and obviously there has been an opportunity to do other things too. I’ve been cooking a lot, we’ve put together a puzzle of 1,000 pieces and now I’ve bought a scale model of an airplane that I’m building – I still haven't finished! Teo is playing hide and seek with me and Patricia as well – if he finds us, he wins a prize!

“Patricia and I played some football-tennis recently – she played with her hands and me with my feet. We also share and do all the household chores together. During this time I’ve also taken the opportunity to carry out work on the car, like changing the oil – it’s important to stay active and use our time in a positive way.”
