Patience is key for Mauricio Pochettino as Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon return to full training.

Giovani has been sidelined since the start of September with a hip problem sustained on international duty with Argentina while Ryan is yet to feature following his summer arrival from Fulham because of a hamstring injury.

The pair have trained with the group during the international break and will now work towards being part of the matchday squad.

Mauricio explained on Thursday: “It’s good news that from now, tomorrow, they are going to be involved with the team. That is a massive step. It’s been a lot of time they were out. Now it's about building their fitness, their capacity to understand and to start to compete with their team-mates.

“The good thing in the last few days we saw in the training sessions is the players were fantastic in their behaviour and commitment and the level of the training sessions and the focus were fantastic. I’m so happy because of that.”
