Six in preliminary England squad

Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Harry Kane, Danny Rose, Kieran Trippier and Harry Winks have all been named in the preliminary 27-man England squad for next month’s UEFA Nations League finals.

With a number of players still on duty with their clubs, including ours, the squad will report for training with the Three Lions at staggered times over the next few weeks, with manager Gareth Southgate set to whittle down the group to a final 23 to travel to Portugal.

Dele, Eric, Harry, Danny and Kieran all retain their places in the squad, while midfielder Winksy returns having missed the last round of internationals in March through injury.

England face the Netherlands in the Nations League semi-final in Guimaraes on Thursday 6 June before a second game on Sunday 9 June.
