Toldo names Inter Forever squad for Test Event match

Mon 25 March 2019, 09:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Inter Forever have unveiled an illustrious group of players set to do battle with our Legends in this weekend's showpiece Test Event match at the new stadium.

Managed by iconic Italian goalkeeper Francesco Toldo, a five-time Serie A winner and Champions League winner with Inter in 2010, Saturday’s opponents at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will field a host of former stars including our ex-midfielder Nicola Berti, who famously wore our colours for a spell in the late-1990s.

Goalkeeping duties for Inter Forever – the official Legends team of FC Internazionale Milano – will be shared by Julio Cesar and Luca Castellazzi, both of whom featured against us in our memorable UEFA Champions League campaign of 2010/11, while Mauricio Pochettino's former Argentina team-mate Javier Zanetti – Inter’s record appearance-maker and winner of 16 trophies with the Nerazzurri – will feature in defence alongside Mikaël Silvestre, Fabio Galante and Inter Forever debutants Laurent Blanc and Matteo Ferrari.

Joining Berti in midfield will be Inter’s four-time Serie A, four-time Coppa Italia and 2010 Champions League winner Dejan Stankovic and another of Mauricio’s former Argentine international team-mates Juan Sebastian Veron, along with Andy Van Der Meyde, Ousmane Dabo, Giorgios Karagounis and Houssine Kharja.

In attack, our visitors will have Benito Carbone, Nicola Ventola and David Suazo at their disposal – Suazo being the current top goalscorer for Inter Forever with nine goals in 10 appearances – while our legendary former striker Jurgen Klinsmann will also play some minutes for them, in addition to appearing for us during the game.

Season Ticket Holders and One Hotspur members who purchased tickets to attend this event are reminded to please come and help us test out our new stadium so we can open it.

Gary Mabbutt, in charge of the Spurs Legends side on the day, has already unveiled a host of popular former players to represent us with more names to be confirmed this week.
